An update on the indoor mint and rosemary – going well!
Aiding that was the installation of LED grow lights for all the indoor plants on 17Apr26, all loving that, more updates in the coming weeks.

Another attempt at indoor mint and rosemary, this time in soil.
The rosemary plants are cuttings that have rooted, and the mint are from the rooted cuttings that were initially planned for outside.

Given the soaking rain the last few days, winter planting can be brought forward. This is the mint planted in a garden bed.
Below are the plants while still in the pots.
Below is the other garden bed that was intended to be planted with mint, but since the mother mint was purchased it has self sown with Seaside Daisy, and a transplanted oregano has survived, so planting it with mint is on hold.

A minty update on the autumnal equinox, winter and shorter days are coming.
There are now nine small pots of mint plants ready to plant out in the next month after the season changes, all cuttings from the ‘mother’ mint plant.
The ‘mother’ mint plant is still going fine too.

Unfortunately the hydroponic mint also didn’t make it, so it’s been replaced with a Spathiphyllum or Peace Lily.

Unfortunately despite the rosemary developing roots in the water, it hasn’t surrived being forced to be hydroponic. The mint will continue alone for now, it has developed extra shoots.
All the other plants shown so far are thriving, updates coming when there are discernible changes / growth.
The rosemary roots are on the left.

Here is the ‘mother’ mint plant purchased 17Dec25 that all the seedlings were grown from as cuttings. The plan is to keep this plant as an ongoing source of new plants as needed and used in the kitchen when not needed.
It is in it’s own bucket to keep it moist at all times.

We’ve made it through to the end of the first month!
Here are some mint seedlings that will be planted out into garden beds when the weather cools, probably around Easter or ANZAC Day. All are cuttings from a single plant purchased 17Dec25.
