An update on the Cumquat. Two of the flowers set and fruit is developing (top right and bottom left), and the plant has flowered again.

Bugs has had some feedback asking for some other local parks be explored.
Given Rockingham is coastal and parts have been built on low lying areas and the water table isn’t far down, lots of the parks have water features / allow somewhere for drainage to collect.
This is Renegade Reserve, looking south from the Brindabella Avenue side.

Lake Richmond looking north from the end of Richmond Avenue (eastern end) towards Lake Street.

More Lake Richmond surrounds, this is the path along the southern drain, looking west back towards the lake. The area in the foreground becomes a stream during rain periods as the drain to the left (seen below) doesn’t have an adequate pipe under the path 🙄

Bugs was in the area, so wanted to start showing Perth’s great city park, Kings Park.
Unfortunately it was around midday so with the current camera we needed a fully shaded area, this is off the path that heads ENE off May Drive south of the Zamia Cafe area. We will return!

[this link will likely change in a few years time when the state government renames / restructures departments for the umpteenth time]

This is Lake Richmond looking south from Lake Street close to Safety Bay Road / the western end.

Unfortunately despite the rosemary developing roots in the water, it hasn’t surrived being forced to be hydroponic. The mint will continue alone for now, it has developed extra shoots.
All the other plants shown so far are thriving, updates coming when there are discernible changes / growth.

The rosemary roots are on the left.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Mitchell brought a promise of some rain, but the rain didn’t make it to Rockingham, barely a trace.

This is the park beside Lake Richmond along Lake Street, looking west from the edge of the bush opposite Bell Street.
This area isn’t watered, we’ll revisit the park during winter to show what some rain can do to green Perth up.
